When they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some believers before the city authorities, shouting, ‘These people who have been turning the world upside down have come here also, and Jason has entertained them as guests. They are all acting contrary to the decrees of the emperor, saying that there is another king named Jesus.‘
The people and the city officials were disturbed when they heard this, and after they had taken bail from Jason and the others, they let them go.” Acts 17:1-9
I stumbled across, while reading a poem written in the new Conspire Magazine. Immediately I reached in my messenger bag, pulled out my Wesley Study Bible and looked up Acts 17 to get the whole story.
By golly, I like it.
How in the world did I miss that line in my earlier readings of Acts? Makes me wonder how many other good things I have missed in this big book.
I wonder if there are any folks in Nashville are raising a ruckus because there are some folks turning the world upside down and acting contrary to the decrees of the emperor, saying that there is another king named Jesus?
