Mzuzu Bags

Sold out for now! 🙂

A year ago a small group of determined women in Malawi started a journey that is changing their lives.

With the help of the United Methodist women in both Malawi and the US, a tiny sewing and tailoring school was started in a little house in Mzuzu, Malawi.

Eight women have come every week day to master the use of both electric and treadle sewing machines, learning tailoring techniques. This training has opened up the possibility of a small design and tailoring business.

These over the chest bags fashioned from beautiful African fabric were a first group attempt to make something for sale. All proceeds from the sale of these bags will go back to the ladies at the Mzuzu tailoring school.

These 4 tailor-made bags are now available in the USA.

Price: $15

Each bags comes with a story of determination, hope, joy and love, opening up new possibilities for the eight women leading this initiative. If you are interested in purchasing one of the bags contact me at or give me a call.

To see why I am choosing to share in this story and invite you too as well, check out this video from the mission pilgrimage I took to Malawi in March 2010.
