Ruby Mai was baptized yesterday and officially joined the place she refers to as “my church.”

It is only right, Ms. Ruby would be baptized and share in the serving of The Great Thanksgiving yesterday. It was the second Sunday of Advent, the day we lit the candle of Love at church.

Her heart is bubbling over with love for Jesus and for people. There is no way of telling how many lives she has cheered up and blessed with her love– no way.

There were many many many holy moments from yesterday that I will ponder in my heart for many days to come, one being the words she shared with me at the Table towards the end of The Great Thanksgiving.

A little back story– Ms. Ruby truly enjoys a good meal. Whenever we share a meal together, at some point during the feast she usually turns to someone at the table and says, “It’s happy here.” Face made up with a smile of content and big eyes shaded with joy.

I stood next to her yesterday during The Great Thanksgiving, her palms up and arms extended– ready for the grace feast to be given to her. She looked around the table, filled with faces whom have been imprinted upon her heart for years– some as long as 22. It was probably the first time she had been given that view and she just stood there taking it all in.

Before we said the Lord’s Prayer she turned to me and said, “I’m happy here.”
